MXS Miniaturized X-ray Source
Miniature source of X-rays, is planned to be used as a module for other devices in accordance with market demands. Due to its compact design, technology we have developed, low power consumption and reduced thermal effects this source can be used in sophisticated applications e.g: material analysis and selection, thickness materials measurement, X-ray diagnostics, others.
The prototype of the device emitted radiation that reached energy of 0.928 keV, which means that both the emitter of electrons and the geometry of the electrodes is correct and that the technological assumptions of our device are assured.
We proved and utilized cold electron emission from tungsten tip fabricated with PFIB technology to copper anode. The X-ray emission from copper was measured with Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS) detector.
